I’m not sure if you’re an NBA fan, but if you are, you more than likely watched the NBA Championship games last week between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors.
Golden State fans have to be ecstatic that they won it all in just 4 games while Cleveland fans were left disappointed and wondering if they’ll even be back in the fight next year.
Why?
Because much of the conversation after the series has not been about the stellar performance of the Golden State Warrior players, but rather if Labron James, Cleveland’s “Franchise Player” will be back next year.
In professional sports, a franchise player is an athlete who is not simply the best player on their team, but one that the team can build their "franchise" around for the foreseeable future.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Labron chooses to do, but in the meantime, we have a much more important question…
Are YOU the franchise player for your team?
Are YOU the franchise player for your company?
Are YOU the franchise player for your family?
You could be.
You should be!
The world needs YOU to be.
We’re surrounded by people that are satisfied with being on the team, maybe even playing in the game, but they aren’t maximizing their potential to the point that SUCCESS is created because of them.
Being a franchise player isn’t all about ego.
It’s rather about performing at a very high level.
You CAN do that.
I hope you do!
YOU can make a real difference in the lives of others and then in many ways...the world.
Go to it…today’s a great day to play…and win!!
Smiles, have a GREAT week and Keep on Seeking…Mark
P.S. if you have an event coming up in the fall or sometime next year that you’ll need a keynote speaker or breakout session teacher, I’d love to be considered. Please pass my name along to your company, association, leadership team, or group. It is always my pleasure to serve and I’d surely appreciate your kindness!!
