If you read last week’s message you should be off and humming on the start of creating your new life with less stress.
If you did not read it, take another few minutes and read it (but not until you have read this week’s)!
Now then…are you doing it?
Are you finding ways to reduce YOUR stress levels?
Here are 5 more common stress causers for most of the people you know:
#6 – Large Looming Tasks = If you’re feeling exhausted just thinking about that big project, or supersized event, or even the daily activities of life, it’s time you break down that elephant sized, mind blowing, overwhelming challenge into smaller achievable chunks. With just a little focus, you can think through the steps necessary to get it all done without having a stroke, and when you break that large looming task into smaller pieces, you’ll realize some of it should be delegated.
#7 – Interruptions = A European study showed that when you allow a distraction during your “mental flow”, it takes 23 minutes to return back to that same focus. You’ve got to kindly say NO to many of those annoying interruptions. Stop taking that unplanned call and stop saying yes to that “have you got a minute” question.
#8 – Multiple Stresses at the Same Time = Avoid procrastinating the inevitable. That long list of tasks become uncompleted tasks when you let them build up. My good friend, Mike Selvaggio taught me that when something arises that can be taken care of in 2 minutes or less, do it right then. That’s great advice!
#9 – Chatty People When You’re Busy = Tell them the truth! Now is not a good time but you do want to talk…then schedule a time when you can be more focused and attentive to their story.
#10 – Being Late = You already know what to do here. It's so obvious…just allow yourself more time! Whatever amount of time you think it will take to get there, add 10%. When you do, you’ll be on time way more often and both you and everyone else will be less stressed!
So, there they are…the 10 most common stress points in our lives.
How will YOU deal with them?
Smiles, have a GREAT week and keep building TRUST...Mark
