We can’t avoid it…we all get stressed.
But stress doesn’t have to completely stress us out!
An important step to taking charge of your life is to recognize the causes of your stress, then take action controlling them so they don’t control you.
And since you are likely already experiencing stress, you’ll probably recognize the 10 most common sources of stress.
I’ll share the first five this week and the second five next week.
Let’s get started…
#1 – Deadlines = we all have them, so to reduce your stress level, you’ll need to plan for them. It starts by doing a better job of planning out your day. You can do that the first 60 minutes of each day or maybe at night before you go to bed. Schedule for those deadlines, because “things that get scheduled get done”. Plan clearly and those deadlines won’t push you off the cliff quite as often as they currently do.
#2 – Lingering Tasks = “To Do” Lists work here. Do a more efficient job of writing your to do lists and those lingering tasks won’t drive you insane!
#3 – Tasks YOU Shouldn’t Be Doing At All = delegate more or just say no!
#4 – Multitasking = No matter what you believe, science shows that your brain can’t multi-task…so…do 1 job at a time and you’ll do it well.
#5 – Your Messy Environment = It may sting a little, but it’s likely true that most everyone you know needs to tidy up a little. A messy environment creates messy distractions and a messy mindset.
So, don’t be stressed…that’s all for now.
Get to work on these and I’ll share part 2 next week.
Smiles, have a GREAT week and Keep Building Trust!!...Mark
