Do YOU Have the Grit to Succeed Big?
The Priority Project’s Six FACETS of Achievement workbook is about realizing your potential. It’s about personal achievement and what really creates success in our lives.
The T in the FACETS represents Tenacity.
The success of your goals and priorities depends entirely on your courage to follow through, to take action in a way that is “All In”.
Henry Ford said it well:
“You can’t build a reputation on what you’re going to do.”
I also like Don Greeson’s thought:
“Strapping on the parachute requires preparation, but jumping from the plane takes tenacity!”
So to really succeed, it’s critically important that you determine your “Why” with enough clarity to positively direct your tenacity and grit.
Don’t except average. The world is full of people who are satisfied with average.
And don’t forget that………Good habits are as easy to have as bad habits, and a lot more rewarding.
You can Tweet that!
Here are what Don and I call the 4 Tenets of Tenacity
1. Embrace Excellence
2. Ignore Negativity
3. Reject Limitations
4. Respect and Seek Out Masters
You have likely heard the phrase…….anything worth doing is worth doing well, so our use of tenacity is not about achieving perfection but rather placing focus on the doing.
In the Tenacity facet, we also teach another of Don’s thoughts:
“Sometimes the difference may not be in what you know, or even who you know………It may just be that you’re standing on the corner when the bus comes by. But to catch the bus, you have to be on the corner.”
So………………get to work on those priorities and don’t let ANYTHING get in your way. Show some grit (my daughter Kerri would say………”Rub some dirt in it”). Use tenacity as a strategy. You’ll be glad you did!
Smiles, have a great week and Keep on Seeking………………….Mark
