Back on April 6th of 2011, I wrote my weekly message about a profound lesson my brother Frankie shared with me. He taught me to stand in respect when anyone approaches or enters a room. Standing appropriately is a wonderful principle, so if you did not receive that message, shoot me an email and I’ll gladly send it to you.
A couple weeks ago, Frankie once again made a statement that shouts to be repeated. He said;
“If you were on trial for ____________, would there be enough evidence to convict you?”
Now, we could fill in the blank with a criminal offense, but I choose to look at it differently. If I was on trial for being a loving father, or a faithful husband, or an honest person, or a great friend, or a speaker that changes lives, or a dedicated leader……..would there be enough evidence to convict me?
Frankie helped me think about commitment and mastery. He caused me to pause and focus on different aspects of my life and profession. Man………I’ve got some more work to do!
How about you? I’m taking that first step today. Please join me………..stay in touch and have a great week…
