The author and leadership guru, John C Maxwell, recently said “The secret of your success is determined by your daily agenda. Are you preparing or repairing?” You might also consider the thought this way. “Are you spending your day in a proactive or reactive mode?”
Creating a proactive and productive day can be daunting. I have found that following the Ninja Selling principle of not opening my email the first hour of the day creates more clarity and eliminates later stress.
That first hour is spent working on my business. It means doing more productive things like writing thank-you notes, making calls to my sphere, reading books or material that trains and expands my mind, walking or exercising, planning and implementing, working on systems or ideas that I know will help grow my business and improve my relationships.
I have found that the more proactive you and I are in the first hour, the more productive we will be throughout the day. Recently, a friend shared, “If you could see far enough into the future, you would see all the good and positive. Learn from the past, but stare towards the future.” I’m trying to do just that.
