Turning a Blind Eye
Turning a blind eye is defined as:
Ignoring something and pretending you do not see it.
Ignoring behavior you know is wrong.
To knowingly refuse to acknowledge something you know is real.
It’s attributed to Admiral Horatio Nelson (blind in one eye) by his willfully choosing to disobey a signal to withdraw during a naval engagement in 1801.
At times, you may have chosen to turn a blind eye.
I have and typically paid a price for my poor vision.
As a leader (or a husband and a father) it’s rarely wise to choose blindness.
Better to face the truth and deal with reality.
Be wise and stay focused……brilliantly focused.
