YOUR Valuable Asset
My fourth and youngest son Taylor graduated last Friday from East Carolina University and he made us proud by walking the stage to receiving a Communications degree Magna Cum Laude.
At Taylor’s graduation ceremony, Brandon Ives, a prominent NC businessman and former ECU alum spoke about our most valuable asset……..TIME.
Here are the cliff notes on Brandon’s advice:
“When we place value on our time, we become wiser”.
“Do the math and estimate the real cost of binge watching that favorite show of yours”!
“Small investments in time are cumulative”.
“Be intentional with how you invest your time……..masterpieces appear through focus”.
“Use your time as if it were a gift…….cherish it”.
“Life is a collection of moments of time. Don’t squander it. Value it.”
I’ve taught for years that the best way to regularly create successful days is to turn off your cell phone, stop reading your email first thing in the morning and work “on” your business and “on” your life the first 30 to 60 minutes of each day.
That might sound painful, but it’s wise……..
Things that get scheduled get done!
Smiles, have a GREAT week and Keep on Seeking………………..Mark
P.S. Taylor is off the first of June to work for Disney Customer Relations in Orlando. Time well invested!
